Blender 2.8 Modelling - Pillow

How to model a pillow or cushion in Blender 2.8

Hello friends I am back with a new tutorial. In this tutorial I am going to model a Pillow or you can call it cushion in Blender 2.8. I will use cloth modifier and apply some physics to automatically make this pillow.

1. Select the cube and press Tab to go into edit mode and press S > Z > 0.03. Then press Enter

2. Now press CTRL+R to cut some loops on the model. Change number of cuts to 30

3. Select the model in Object mode and add Cloth from Physics menu  and change cloth preset to Silk. (See Video at 00:40)

4. Go to Collision Section and change Quality to 4. Then Check on Self Collisions.

5. Go to Field Weights Section and change Gravity value to 0. or the simulation won't work.

6. Now press SHIFT+A and select "Force" from "Force Field" section. Make sure its placed in the center of the Cube (See Video at 00:56)

7. Change the force object's Strength value to 150

8. Now press Play to Start the simulation

9. Stop the simulation when you think it is looking like a Pillow.

10. Then Right Click on the model and select Shade Smooth

11. Now apply the Cloth modifier from the modifiers menu.

12. Now you can delete the Force object.

13. Add a Subdivision Surface Modifier

14. Select the middle Edge loop and Bevel it by pressing CTRL+B (See video at 01:54)

15. Insert one more edge loop in the middle and scale it on its normal by pressing ALT+S (See video at 02:00)

16. Now Bevel the middle edge loop by pressing  CTRL+B and scrolling up the mouse one time to insert a edge loop in the middle (See video at 02:04)

17. You can bevel some more edges to make the model look good. (See Video at 02:09)

So this way you can make any type of pillow with just cloth modifier and apply some force into it. Please leave a comment in the comment section if you like this tutorial.
